It's the day before
the day,
when we give it up.
And I'm pregnant.
Not sure what to give
as I'm still in those achy weeks
of eating whatever makes me feel better
even for a moment.
And so I've landed
on starting
new.
Beginning
an old habit
of READING each day.
Somewhere among the months,
it was lost
and I want to find it again.
To be that tree
planted by the waters
bearing fruit in its season.
